Our History
From The Queens to the Lions
Founded in 1936 as 'The Queens', the club was later renamed Sunderland before adopting the name Simba (Swahili for 'Lion') in 1971. Based in Kariakoo ward, Ilala District, Dar es Salaam, Simba SC is the most successful Tanzanian football club in international competitions, with two CAF Confederation Cup final appearances (1993 and 2024-25).
